INVESTMENT PROCESS

United Way of Fairfield County (UWFC) accepts and reviews applications for funding through Community Impact Councils once each calendar year. Councils include: Education, Income and Health and have established strategic goals with the community. Funding is provided for the fiscal year July 1 - June 30.

Any agency or organization interested in submitting an application for funding must be certified by UWFC. Certification documentation must be submitted to UWFC annually by the first business day in November.

November
The deadline is November 1st for all organizations interested in applying for UWFC funding to submit their certification documentation. The certification process and deadline pertains to both currently funded partners as well as potential partners.

Organizations will be notified by November 17th if UWFC certification requirements were met and open the application process to all approved organizations.

January
Mid-Year reports for previous half of fiscal year are due by the fourth Friday in January (26th).

February
Deadline for submitting funding applications is Thursday, February 1, 2018, 5:00 pm.

April - May
Impact Councils make their recommendations to United Way's Board of Trustees for program funding based on careful review of the applications, site visit discussions and committee level discussions.

May
Funding decisions are approved by the Board of Trustees.

July
Disbursement of funds begins for fiscal year July 1 - June 30. Year-end reports for previous fiscal year are due by the fourth Friday in July (27th).
